A.P.C. Autumn Winter 2015 Jackets

A.P.C. OXFORD MAC

Renowned for wardrobe classics, Paris-based fashion house A.P.C has been rooted in music and art since 1987. Attracting a cult following, fans are drawn to their exceptional denim, luxurious knitwear and understated outerwear.

Producing timeless, quintessentially Parisian ready-to-wear staples, designer Jean Touitou reaffirmed his place as a leader in cool urban menswear. The Autumn Winter 2015 collection saw quilted bombers, bare chests with relaxed camel coats, ties and check shirts. Perfectly executed, the pieces showcase a subtle melding of streetwear and conservative.

Working with A.P.C for over eight years, Louis Wong was asked to join in a side project, to quote the creative director, “when you have a nice house, it is only natural to give someone a room within it.” The outcome was Louis W. for A.P.C., a line-up of styles inspired by the attitudes of well-dressed men from 70’s French cinema, roughing up the collection was important with A.P.C’s signature clean and casual lines.

Consisting of traditional British menswear such as hunting jackets, heavy corduroy and sweaters, the colour palette is classic and concise, consisting of dark green, tobacco and off white. Knitwear is new to the Louis W. collection this season, including two wool knit sweaters, one with faux leather patch shoulders. The Ferris Jacket is suede constructed in a varsity silhouette while the satin weave Neal jacket features sheepskin collar.

In the context of current social and cultural turbulence, the Louis W. Fall-Winter 2015 collection is The Comfort Zone, taking solace in tradition and convention. “It’s about a certain attitude, something a bit masculine” – Louis Wong.
