SIGNATURE BRITISH STYLE FROM SCANDI WATCHMAKER DANIEL WELLINGTON

If you seek slim, subtle and refined style from a watch then look no further. This is something provided in plenty by Swedish watchmaker Daniel Wellington.

Daniel Wellington, ‘the watch brand’ was born when co-founder Filip Tysander met a gentleman from the British Isles, during a globetrotting trip many years ago. The man he met possessed impeccable style, was gentlemanly, unpretentious, and loved to wear his watches on old weathered Nato straps. That very gentleman was indeed Daniel Wellington.

Filip and Daniel formed a strong lasting friendship, with Filip later deciding to name his watch brand after his good friend. Daniel Wellington watches not only tell their story of friendship, but Felip has also managed to encompass Daniel’s suave timeless style and originality into the watch brand. The distinguished style that the Scandinavian watchmaker Daniel Wellington offers led to us wanting to shed some light on their low key brand.

The “Classic” 6mm style clock face (available in rose gold or silver) is available with a leather or a natostrap, offering authentic British style in abundance. The watch design is uniform across the board, so whilst some may dispute the lack of choice, others will seize the minimalism for what its worth. In our opinion this is something that makes Daniel Wellington timepieces wonderfully unique and a signature brand. In simple terms, Daniel Wellington knows what they like and they do it well. The DW collection certainly does a good job of paying homage to an authentic British preppy style.

Whilst the leather strap option works great with smart attire, offering simplistic style for its wearer,  the natostrap is also great for the more casual gent and makes for a cool contrasting effect. Both options sit easily under the cuff, so its left to ones personal preference. Daniel Wellington watches retail from £149 – £179, depending on your strap option. Whichever you choose, you can expect a subtle watch, with a strong sense of style and quality. If you were to purchase a DW watch, you will be pleased to know that your watch will be delivered in a leather presentation/storage box, along with a clear instruction manual and even a small tool to help you change your strap! After all Daniel Wellington sell a number of leather straps at £49 and natostraps for £25, leaving you with the opportunity to change your style if you wish in the future. Judging from what we’ve learnt, Daniel Wellington was quite a man, and the folks behind the brand deserve huge applause for their stylish conservative approach to watch design.
