With a motto like ‘no rum, no rainbow’, you know the good vibes are coming your way when you book a visit to what is the original Rum Kitchen site, Notting Hill. After an extensive refurbishment, the Caribbean beach shack is re-open, with even more good food and drinks on the menu than before.
Continuing to serve up authentic Caribbean grub in the heart of West London, Rum Kitchen has been completely redesigned to reflect a new aesthetic, delivering a relaxed but premium experience, with a new private member’s lounge underneath the restaurant.
A brand-new weekend brunch menu has been launched, helping those suffering from the-morning-after-the-night-before recover with an island-inspired start to the day. If pulled pork sausages, spicy beans and freshly squeezed juices are up your street, then step inside.
The evening menu has been re-jigged too, with new additions including a Tropical Seabream Ceviche with Cassava chips, a Jerk Salmon Fillet with a paper thin root salad and tangy citrus & sesame dressing. Whilst house favourites such as the Jerk chicken bowl, two to four jerk boneless chicken things with jerk gravy, coconut black eye pea rice and homemade slaw and 18-hour slow cooked pork belly ribs with jerk BBQ sauce and toasted coconut flakes remain firmly on the menu.
This might just be rum heaven.. Settle down in one of the new banquet booths and chew over deciding on one of the 200 rums and endure the toe-tapping sounds of reggae, old school hip hop, soca and funk.
Rum Kitchen is a Caribbean eatery that bends the rules. The experience is completely unique, relaxed, fun and vibrant – a local destination where from the moment you step off the pavement and through the doors you are transported to a tropical island. We will be back soon!
