For summer 2016, the Queen of Hoxton are bringing a ‘Summer of Love’ theme to their rooftop bar. Providing an environment for the flower child in you, the famous venue will serve food like beatnik burgers and the psychedelic ice cream sandwich, alongside cocktails, floats and slushes. If that isn’t enough, there will be a host of events happening up on the roof throughout the warmer season.

“High above the busy streets of London, a colourful kaleidoscopic hideaway is waiting to transport dreamers, lovers and revellers back to the hazy summer of 1967…

Welcome to A Tribute to Dr Strange, our nostalgic homage to one of the world’s most legendary summers, when scores of young people travelled from across America and beyond in search of a spiritual revolution. Arriving in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury, they cast off constricting social values and championed ideas of peace, communal living, experimentation and spirituality. Psychedelia, flower power and freedom reigned.

More than a generation has passed since the radical and revolutionary furore of the Summer of Love, yet the issues reminiscent of a 1960s world – war, social inequality and financial crises – appear ever closer to the current global climate. So this summer on the Queen of Hoxton’s infamous rooftop bar, we will be celebrating the ethos of a counter-culture that is as relevant and radical now as it was nearly fifty years ago. Expect an intoxicating utopia filled with flowers, trippy visuals, and interactive installations to satisfy your inner flower child.”
