Having owned a pair of Sonos PLAY:1 speakers for just shy of a month now, its fair to say I’ve enjoyed playing my music extra LOUD, all in aid of test driving the latest offering from audio legends Sonos of course!

So what’s new with the PLAY:1? What makes it different to the brands previous products? First things first, the Sonos PLAY:1 is clearly smaller in size than some of its earlier sister products, evidently this means there are not only smaller neat buttons, but a compactness which makes for great overall adaptability. The Play:1 is a versatile little system, worthy of being placed in any room of choice in your home. Like its brother and sister products, the PLAY:1 from Sonos oozes style, but also provides an impeccable crystal clear audio experience, something which has long made Sonos a name-stayer in the audio industry!

Given both the size and retail price of the PLAY:1, it certainly opens up a whole new consumer base for Sonos, something mutually beneficial for manufacture and consumer alike. Consequently the Sonos PLAY:1 is a perfect gift, an excellent entry product for someone being introduced to the world of Sonos or maybe just a awesome add-on for a kitchen/bedroom/ lounge. One thing we love about Sonos products in general is the ability to add further speakers to your home with little fuss. All you do is simply link a new piece of kit to your Sonos bridge and your away! Maybe you’ll decide that just one speaker is all you need, but the flexibility is there to further develop your home into total audio heaven. In essence with such Sonos products, you are protected and widening the scope of audio opportunity, whilst future-proofing your technology!

A cool feature I’ve loved messing with is the mobile application, which may I point out is necessary to control and group your Sonos speakers. This enables you to link your speakers to your mobile device, its music library or a Spotify account amongst many other musical application services. Yes its really about time you threw away those CD’s now!

Overall its difficult to not like the Sonos PLAY:1, with an array of classy draws. One thing the PLAY:1 might be missing is the option of total portability. I mean if I had to find something to improve it would be the option of putting some batteries inside for total and taking it to the beach someday, however I don’t live near a beach! Nonetheless Sonos has yet another GREAT product in the PLAY:1.

For best results, we recommend you buy two, that way your in stereo mode! Move them to different rooms to suit, add to your playbar for some extra awesome surround sound experiences, the scope of opportunity is yours, you are the creator of your audio home!
