Exactly how soul singer-songwriter Kendra Morris and her now three-year old track “Concrete Waves” slipped under the radar until now is beyond me. Morris has made waves in the music community for her covers including her eerily, beautiful adaptation of Pink Floyd’s “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” which was featured in trailers for the 2013 film Dead Man Down. The one thing that blew me away was her voice; which draws close comparisons to that of Erykah Badu with a hint of Lauryn Hill. Oh and did I mention she has a sweet cover of Kanye West’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothing”? Simply put: she snapped.
