From the musical hotbed of Sydney, Australia come new electronic duo Chymes. Comprised of singer-songwriter Kiersten Nyman and mulit-instrumentalist Cameron Taylor, the pair have combined talents to create an alluring and atmospheric debut single.
Following the minimal, ghostly style of artists like Oh Wonder and Purity Ring, “Oracle” is a swirl of sharp, clear vocals and mystical sounds. They employ thin, staccato bells and undulating melodies to create an impressively solid debut.
They’re currently applying the finishing touches to their upcoming EP, Grow, due sometime this year. If this track is any indication, it should be a strong first release with a direct, eerie electronic style.
