This isn’t the first time we’ve heard female vocalist Nylo deliver a stellar effort, the Chicago artist’s SoundCloud page (here) is full of gems. But never before has Nylo decided to challenge herself to taking on a classic hip-hop record like she has done here on this special cover of “Life’s a Bitch” originally by rap legend Nas.
Completely reshaping the original instrumental, Nylo introduces cold synths and an electronic percussion to assist her, while suprisingly choosing to lend Nas’ lyrics for this piece of pop gold-dust.
While Nylo recently appeared on G-Eazy‘s track, “Sleepless“, back in 2014, we haven’t heard much from her since. We hope this latest piece is the first of many more from her. Stream below.
