AVAY is a name that quite simply should not be ignored from this day forward. The talented Russian producer has delivered some consistent soulful melodies for just shy of a year now, all of which can be enjoyed via his Soundcloud page here. At 17-years-old, Avay is possibly just getting started in the music world, but delivers a sound that demonstrates an honest craft and maturity far beyond his years. Judging by his previous audio releases and latest drop, “ONLY U”, its hard to not see him going far.
On “Only U”, Avay’s decision to sample Yuna‘s vocals from “Lullabies” proves to be an effective one, giving the record a definition and some empowering lyricism. The switching of vocal pitch makes Yuna’s incredibly smooth vocals seem a far cry, with a more masculine pitched adopted for ultimate soulful effect, giving “Only U” a degree of originality alongside the effortless drum pad work and ambient key drops.
