Oh yes. Electronic heavyweights PANTyRAiD are back with their booty-moving, dark and dirty beats. “Wanting Moves” is our first taste of their upcoming album, and they’ve definitely whetted my appetite.
The duo, comprised of MartyParty and Glitch Mob member Ooah, have stayed true to their sound with heavy synth drops, ominous melodies and hip hop vocal samples. Infused with subtle flecks of world music and aggressively distorted sounds, “Wanting Moves” seems to have more of MartyParty’s multi-genre influence to it. However, this track feels a lot like “Jokes From The Backseat” off 2014’s PillowTalk, which speaks to PANTyRAiD’s impressive consistency.
Fans will have to wait until April 29th to see if the new album, entitled “Afterglow” will boast more grimy dance tracks or if the duo have chosen to explore a different musical direction.
