The elegant surroundings of The Club at Café Royal hosts a deliciously sumptuous afternoon, offering delectable treats set to a soundtrack of yesteryear.

Allow yourself to be transported back in time at The Club at Café Royal, where Garbo’s Travelling Tearoom, as the name suggests, showcases a pop up event serving afternoon tea in a dreamy vintage setting. There will be fine finger sandwiches, fresh scones, mini cakes and lashings of Cornish clotted cream and homemade jams.

Ninotchka Tingleff, the brains behind Garbo’s Travelling Tearoom, named the company after her beloved Great Dane Garbo. Renowned for her moreish cakes and delectable sweet things [her red velvet fudge is legendary!], Ninotchka founded Garbo’s Travelling Tearoom as as result of recognising a gap in the market for a glamorous get together for her and her friends at home.

Drawing inspiration from Hollywood Glamour of the roaring 20s, through to the 30s & 40s, Ninotchka found her gatherings proving ever more popular and requests for her to host similar events in alternative settings grew significantly. Ever since, Ninotchka has carved a place for herself as a curator of high-end vintage afternoon teas. Garbo’s is a growing creative business, now also offering a range of gorgeous food hampers and individual items such as jams, biscuits and chocolate truffles.

Garbo’s Travelling Tearoom will create a mesmerising setting in the Club room at Café Royal. Think mesmerising kentia palms, candlelight, deco statuettes, black and white photos with gramophones and old volumes to boot. Accompanied by a soundtrack of tunes from Al Bowly, Edith Piaf, Carlos Gardel, Josephine Baker et al, the room will be evocative of a beautiful and glamorous past in which to indulge your senses.
