i-D are celebrating 30 years of beauty by joining forces with Microsoft, and brining us on a visual journey that explores some of the most influential subcultures of the past decades.
Subcultures might have values and norms that are distinct from those held by the majority, but they’ve undoubtedly influenced today’s fashion and social scenes in a major way.
Together, New York makeup artist Ralph Siciliano and visual directors Santiago & Mauricio from Mexico have collaborated to create a striking new video to cinema this evolution, with the help of the HP Spectre x360. Ralph, Santiago and Mauricio show us just how they created this Clubland film, which is part of i-D’s ‘Beautiful Collaborations‘ project
The likes of the New Romantics, Seapunks, Futureheads and more all get a nod of appreciation in the film, which we will be sharing with you in full next week. For the meantime check out this exclusive behind the scenes footage below.
