Released on Monday, Ohlayindigo’s “GEM” -Green Eyed Monster- is already totting up the Souncloud plays.
With its growling, rocky back beat that lifts from verse to chorus, “GEM” is slightly grittier than previous tracks “If These Walls Could Talk” and “Heartbeat”.
Down-tempo verses and moody choruses, coupled with an 80s-electro edge, makes “GEM” sound like the soundtrack to a teem drama like The Vampire Diaries.
The strong vocals give the new single an epic feel, as do the lyrics, ‘and everything around me is so dark I swear that I can almost see the stars’.
