Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male is a classic in the men’s fragrance world. The French fashion designer’s infamous scent remains the benchmark for many houses who set their sights on smelling out the high-street.
Le Male’s strong marketing campaign sold us on the story of love, telling the story of a sailor who passes a beautiful woman, the rest is of course history. The tale is reiterated through Le Male’s presentation/packaging, a classic metal can housing the body-shaped bottle which is dressed in the designer’s symbolic sailor jersey. The scent is a warm, masculine and gentle aroma.
Released in 1995, two years after the female interpretation ‘Classique’, Le Male is now into its 20th year.
To commemorate its continual eligibility for man, Jean Paul Gaultier has launched a celebratory collector’s edition of the popular fragrance. While the traditional Le Male scent remains, the pirates have raised the black flag and set sail.
Le Male Eau de Toilette Collector’s Edition will be available at Boots.com from 2nd February 2015: £58.00/125ml
