East London emcee and Sony RCA signee, Maxsta has been making waves since the release of his 2010 street anthem “East London Is Back”. Fast forward to now (November 2012) and a few critically acclaimed mixtapes and EPs and the club smashing singles have dropped, and Young Max is set to take things a step further with his new EP Gear 6.
Leading up to the release, Maxsta launched #GEAR6SEASON, a weekly leak of audio and visual. So every Tuesday at 6PM a new song will be released via his SoundCloud account and every Thursday at 6PM a Music Video will be dropped via various outlets.
The first track released is the poignant, reflective and observational “Streets”, taking a look at the environment and pitfalls surrounding Maxsta and many of the young men growing up in the inner city and the effects it has on their future.
